AGRIBUSINESS SPONSORSHIP FOR SIAYA YOUTH

The County Government of Siaya through the department of Agriculture and Bukura Agricultural college have supported seven youths from Siaya County secure 2jiajiri scholarship program by KCB foundation, for skills building and employment creation.

2jiajiri is a skills development and job creation programme which is implemented by KCB Foundation, the program seeks to catalyse employment and wealth creation among existing jua Kali entrepreneurs and the youth.
The youth from different Sub counties will be starting their classes at Bukuara Agricultural college on Monday 11th, February 2019 for a period of four months.
The seven youths namely Benta Akoth poultry farmer from Central Gem, Alphonce Omondi poultry farmer from North Gem, Michael Onyango poultry farmer from Ugenya, Dennis Ochiel doing Dairy farming from Alego, Gilbert Ogutu practicing Horticulture farming from Bondo, Daniel Omondi practicing Poultry farming from Bondo and Christopher Adwera Horticulture farmer from Ugenya are as well part of the team that participated and triumphed during an Agribusiness youth conference that was sponsored by German Technical Corporation GIZ at Bukura in August 2018.
A total of 202 students have secured the scholarship across the country and will be trained on different agri enterprises based on their interest and presentation of business ideas.
