Becoming a Master Student

You can always become better

Today’s students are tomorrow’s country leaders and the qualities of the student clearly determine the students’ bright future and carrier path. So, who is a good student? What are the qualities of a master student? Historically, the term ‘student’ referred anyone who learns something.

Even the brightest students can sometimes find themselves academically underperforming, often through no fault of their own. When students find themselves in this situation, it is often because they’re stuck in a rut and are not sure what to do to improve. If this sounds like you, the first step is to work out the reasons why you may be underperforming, and the next step is to work out how to tackle the problem. If you’re not sure how to go about it, this chapter shows you what you can do to form an improvement plan to help you achieve the grades you know you’re capable of achieving and become a master student.

Based on my personal experience and research, here is the list of the qualities of a master student;
(1) Attitude: master student must possess the ability and willingness to learn new subjects even the subjects are not interesting.
(2) Academic skills: Ability to read comprehensively, to write effectively, to speak fluently, and to communicate clearly are the key areas in which a master student must be proficient. Having a good handle in all these areas will make a student to shine in a class.
(3) Ability to apply: A master student has the ability to apply the results of his or her learning in to a creative way and achieve the goals.sues
(4) Perceptiveness: How well a student can interpret and perceive meanings from a conversation greatly determines the quality of a good. A master student always perceives right meaning from conversations, but an average student often misunderstands the original thoughts of a speaker or writer and derives a wrong conclusion.
(6) Understands rather than memorizing concepts: A lot of surveys suggest students must understand the concepts rather than just memorizing them. The memorized facts and theories will stay in students’ memory until they leave school, college, or university. Once out of school, the students will totally forget the core concepts that they learned. Therefore, it is essential a student understand the concepts.

Yes, the more you read, the more you learn. However, studying from books alone will not help you improve. In order to be truly good, they must strive in multiple areas: reading, travel, information technology, social activities, and leisure.

But there are a number of additional qualities and experiences that a master student should strive to acquire, namely:

  • Are religious
  • Are patriotic
  • They devote themselves fully to the pursuit of knowledge
  • They cultivate their virtues and values
  • They have noble dreams

  • They lead a strictly disciplined life and never indulge in evil thoughts
  • They make proper use of their time and never shirk their duties
  • They are sincere, energetic, neat and tidy
