Let Go and Let In God

The Lord had said to Abraham “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.

Of course to most of us today, this would have been the funniest joke of the year but for Abraham, this was just a great highway to the great place God was taking him, and without doubting, he left as the Lord had told him leaving everything behind even the ancestral land!!!Ooh my God!!! What a faith?

To many, this appears as a fictional tale, I mean how do you leave everything you ever loved and held dearly behind for a God you have never seen and then move to a strange place you know nothing about??But to me, I see it as a perfect illustration of how sometimes we have to let go of certain things for us to meet with our blessings.

Refusing to let go of what God has asked to, is tantamount to saying NO to God’s blessings. Some of us today, God wants us to let go of things. It could that unhealthy relationships you are in, that compromising job, that person who hurt in the past and you still hold in your heart, or maybe that wears character trait you have but we have adamantly refused making it difficult for God to bless us.

How else do you think Abraham became a source of blessings, a father of nations and the father of faith??It was through obedience to the word of God by letting go.

Dear  brethren, let’s  learn to let go whenever God says so and see how faithful our God can be. What is it that God wants you to let go??And what exactly could you be waiting for? Don’t be like the Israelites (Deuteronomy 1)who rebelled against God by refusing to get out of the Mt. Horeb and advancing to the hill country of the Amorites. Don’t delay to let go because it might just be too late by the time you realize it.
