Silent The Violent Bullets & Allow The Vociferous Ballots To Speak

By Lamrana Alieu Jalloh, Sierra Leone

As one of the most democratic nations in Africa, Sierra Leone exudes exceptional qualities in many spheres of governance. This country is not only the most peaceful in West Africa, but one of the most peaceful in Africa. Its inhabitants, Sierra Leoneans are known far and wide for their hospitality, honesty and resilience in acquiescence to all the ills they’ve gone through, in the natural and artificial mayhems that have befallen their nation.
The aforementioned are attributes every Sierra Leonean is proud of. However, our democracy is about to be put into another test if and only if we allowed the dictate of the looming elections go bizarre or unconventional with the Sierra Leonean political style and its democratic appearance.

Fellow Sierra Leoneans, especially the youths, please let’s adhere to the tenets of PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE & PEACEFUL ELECTIONS.

It’s apparent that politics in Africa is becoming more of a BUSINESS than POLICY & its IMPLEMENTATION; bulk of the electorates trade their votes to get the few elites up there, and at the same time the elites pay their bills to ATTAIN powers, MAINTAIN their uppish statuses and try to RETAIN it again through money, region or tribal lines. A MONEY-CLAN BASED POLITICS!

Youths arise and help inform your family members, neighbourhoods and communities about the need to PUT SALONE FOS above any political ideology and its affiliated colours.

This March 7th election is definitely going to be one of its very kind in the history of our country. All the forerunner political figures are forces to reckon with.

MOHAMED KAMARAINBA MANSARAY (ADP), the youngest among the four is endowed with the exuberance of youthful hue. Many see him as the mouthpiece of the masses; a man who stood the test of time in critiquing issues of national concern when the main opposition party was drowsing. This makes him outstandingly fit to mount the seat of the 1st gentleman of our nation.

KANDEH YUMKELLA (NGC) is just beyond the ordinary; his eloquence, amazing political trait, charismatic outlooks, policy know-how, and strategic planning by bringing a national coalition puts him in a better position in this forthcoming elections. His international and national appeals also make him more marketable, thus, more appropriate to lead the nation.

JULIUS MAADA BIO (SLPP) is an aspirant with an extraordinary character. His love for his country makes him the fittest to take after H.E Ernest Bai Koroma. He stood out to be the very few Africans that took powers through coups and handed over to civilian rule or democratically based governments. During the dark days of Sierra Leone, he was one of the few Sierra Leoneans that stood up in bringing peace & light on the ground, and he even relinquished powers to give joy to citizens of this country. His sacrifices for our country are numerous,
I think he needs a PAYBACK.

DR. MATTHEW WILSON SAMURA-KAMARA (APC) You Sabi Am? Yes Ah Sabi Am!
This man is a trained technocrat, seasoned political figure with wealth of experience and expertise to continue and lubricate the gains we’ve made as a nation. Dr. Samura-Kamara’s innate quality is a replica of a nationalist and a developmentalist. His honesty, loyalty and tacit concurrence to national service makes him the most suitable to man the affairs of our state.

The above four political figures will never wish anything abhorrent to their country. But lo…woe be tide some of the unrefined followers of these aspirants, who think that fanning the flames of war or discord to create social unrest in our country is the best they can do to propagate their political views.

Oh my fellow youths, let me wish you these;

If you think creating unnecessary unrest during campaigning time is the best you can do for your country; I wish you a safe place and all the best in Pademba Road.

If you believe being paid for your vote is the best you can actualize in this coming polls; I wish you nothing but a stronger slap from posterity.

If you think being hired and wired to cause hacks and havocs against opposing forces is the best you can do; I wish you a murky visit of retributive justice.

If you think relegating yourself to become a TRAMADOLIST, PEGATONIAN, ALCOHOLIAN, or MARIJUANIST in order to be fully charged to put on rant and rave during campaigning times; I wish you nothing but days full of wasted hours.

Let me remind you again…for those of you that think the bane to satisfy some of these politicians is to fuel violence on their behalf, I want to tell you that they are very safe if anything happens. Most of their children or siblings are 2nd citizens to Sierra Leone. They owe their allegiance somewhere else. Most of them are citizens in countries far away from Africa. For some of them, who have their children in Sierra Leone, please check at the best private schools you’ll definitely see them there. The best you can do for yourself now IS TO SCAN THOROUGHLY YOUR PAST, PRESENT AND SEE WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR YOU then you’ll understand what I mean by PUTTING SALONE FOS.

To all those patriotic Sierra Leoneans that think Salone and wish the
best for Salone, I wish you all the best you wish for yourselves. May all your dreams for a better Salone come true.

PLEASE LET’S ALL COME TOGETHER AS A PEOPLE TO SILENT THE VIOLENCE BULLETS AND ALLOW THE VOCIFEROUS BALLOTS TO SPEAK ON OUR BEHALF!
